THE FAYRE - FUNDRAISING FOR CALAMA - CHILE
These photos show various founder members of the Chile Solidarity Committee and their families and supporters both at work and at play.
The ‘Fayre’ photographs show a fund raising event organised by Rowland and the Committee to raise funds for the support of soup kitchens in Calama, Chile. On them can be seen Maximo Antonioletti, dressed as an eastern fortune teller, Hugh McClung, leading the tombola, and Elena Sanchez feeding her son, Pedro Miguel who was born in Stirling.
Jan Watson appears on the ‘Easter’ photos and Rowland’s chess opponent is Jan’s younger brother Charles. On the ‘egg rolling’ photo from right to left are Claire Sheret, Karen Chipulina, Susy and Steven Sheret, Jan Watson, Linda Green, me, Charles Watson and Rowland. The photographer was May Chipulina.
The black and white snapshot was taken at an Alloa May Day Rally. I think about twenty people turned up but if you look closely you will see that Rowland was one of them, just hidden on the left of the fourth row of marchers. On the second row are Susanna Antonioletti and Jan Watson.
